I have a very strong belief that the best coaches have at least one coach of their own that really stretch them, some even have several to stretch them this way and that way and even another way.

There is an element of "do as you say" but more importantly, we become better coaches by having our own coaches, especially when we hire coaches that really stretch us or go against our way of thinking.

My advice to any and all coach is to hire the best coach you can afford, hire someone who will really stretch you and if you have to stretch your budget - even better! Its not about the money. Its about being your best.

Now I'll get off my soapbox and share with you about my wonderful coaches.

Lynn Baskfield -Equine Coach - ALWAYS and AMAZING EXPERIENCE . Some might give all the credit to the horses, however it takes a masterful coach to hold the space and share the experience with you. I am grateful for the amazing network of coaches that presented themselves to me in the Fall of 2003 as I engaged this profound evolution to soulful coaching and being at peace. From October 03-Mar 04 I was working with four coaches simultaneously.- Yes you read it clearly - 4.

Jon Benfer who leads the Arbinger Coaches Network kicked my ass and rubbed my soul to discover how much I love my brother and all of those people I have stories about only to discover that it is really all about ME and about ME in relationship to the world. Thank You Jon. Now Jon is co-leading the Choice In Coaching program which is training me to use the Arbinger material in my coaching.

Clive Prout who works with me on the issues of the Bigger Game around "Bringing Soul To Work". He listens, confronts, challenges, and pushes me over with the art of a zen master. We grapple with issues of the Soul, Work, Intention and the integration of them all. Thank You Clive.

Jan Berg Who is a phenominal coach who I happened upon through my Corvus Peer Coaching Network. I am not her typical client, but I needed her to hold me, keep me sane, keep me focused, and let me meander though our coaching for two terms (6 months). I needed her as a life coach. She held me so reverently that in our completion call last week I described her coaching style as the "lick of a momma kitty." Her voice dialogue session with me was a real eye opener as well. Thank You.

Barbara McAfee is my voice coach who has been connecting my voice, my body and my soul in ways that I had forgotten about or never even knew. For 15 years I have been a 2nd Bass after being a 1st Tenor turned bari-tenor in High School. Barbara, through her grace, skill, training, and "Voice Yoga" has released this lyric baritone out of me. She has extensive training with the Roy Hart Theatre. I am now singing with the Apollo Male Chorus, a 109 year old male choir that is just a delight to be a part of. Barbara is AWESOME.

L.A. Reding: Simply Amazing - She is the queen jewel in the CTI coaching leader network. I feel great admiration and love for this woman. In many respects I feel she birthed me into life coaching and BEing. She taught me how important it is for me to love, yes, love my clients. She is now on to bigger things - quite literally. She is one of the founders of the Bigger Game Company bringing the Bigger Game into the world and into workplaces. In addition to that she has been primary in bringing coaching to Norway.

Thea Sheldon: She and I are on a very similar wave length. She has an ability to just reach in and hold your heart and then just tug it. She coaches from the lifeforce and 4th/5th level listening. We have a very similar style. We want her as an associate - hint hint. (218)365-3379 -

Jilly Shaull, PCC: Based in the UK - She is a dynamo! I love her dearly. Her passion and zest for life and her clients is palpable. She works in metaphor and story to get at the heart of what is going on. Gentle but perfectly willing to stab you in the solar plexas. She works with people who want to engage the second half of their lives with joie de vivre.

Lerae Frisby, PCC: My Canadian friend is living her dream on a lake in British Columbia. She is an international leadership coach with a commanding presence. Dynamic, creative, from the soul approach.

Suzanne Kryder: Corporate and business coach, flexible, agile, and attuned to what is going on. Skilled in Dreaded Conversations.
